Following her divorce from Jim Toth in 2023, Reese Witherspoon found love once again with German financier Oliver Haarmann.
The pair initially sparked romance rumors in July 2024 when they were spotted hanging out together in New York City.
Two months later, Us Weekly confirmed that Haarmann, who is a minority co-owner of the NHL’s New York Islanders, and Witherspoon were officially dating.
The couple seemingly confirmed their ongoing romance in July 2025 when they were spotted making out in Saint-Tropez on a yacht, per pictures taken by TMZ.
Prior to her romance with Haarmann, Witherspoon and Toth called it quits in March 2023 after 11 years of marriage.

“We have some personal news to share … It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” Witherspoon and Toth shared in a joint Instagram statement. “We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness and mutual respect for everything we have created together.”
Witherspoon and Toth share son Tennessee together. Witherspoon also shares daughter Ava and son Deacon with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, whom she was married to from June 1999 to June 2008.

1. OIiver Haarmann Is a German Financier
Haarmann received his BA from Brown University before graduating with his MBA from Harvard Business School, per his LinkedIn. He served as a partner of global investment firm KKR from 1999 to 2010 before becoming the founding partner of Searchlight Capital Partners in London in 2010. Haarmann also served as a member of the Board of Trustees at Brown University, the Chairman of the Board at IntoUniversity, an advisory board member at Aspire Institute and a member of the board of trustees at Artangel.
“Searchlight Capital is a private equity firm that we started just about 10 years ago,” Haarmann shared on the “LSE Focal Point” podcast in December 2021. “Searchlight now manages close to 10 billion dollars, most of it in private equity.”
2. Oliver Haarmann Is a Minority Co-Owner of the NHL’s New York Islanders

In February 2024, the New York Post reported that Haarmann had invested in the hockey team as a minority owner after being in negotiations for roughly 10 percent of the team in December 2023.

Haarmann was previously married to successful financier Mala Gaonkar. The twosome share two sons together.
4. Oliver Haarmann Cofounded a Charity With His Ex-Wife

Haarmann and Gaonkar cofounded a charity in 2022 focused on global health and development called the Surgo Foundation. The pair run the charity alongside Sema Sgaier and Malcolm Gladwell.

In December 2021, Haarmann went on the “LSE Focal Point” podcast, where he shared advice he would give to students.
“As students, especially if we’re at LSE or Harvard Business School, we generally go into it as highly analytical people. We have math skills, we have good problem solving skills,” Haarmaann explained. “You know the whole university experience is built around enhancing those analytical and problem solving skills and communication skills. … The problem with them is actually you think about why things won’t work. … The real challenge is to say, ‘Why could something work and how could we make it work?’”
