Basketball Wives star Chantel Christie is speaking out after getting physical with her mom, Jackie Christie.

“She touched my arm, I pushed her off of me, she swung. Plain and simple,” Chantel, 32, wrote via her Instagram Story on Wednesday, July 23. “It’s unfortunate things played out this way, and I wish it never happened, but if you knew our history, then you’d know this was a long time coming.”

During the Monday, July 21, episode of Basketball Wives, cameras rolled as Chantel and Jackie, 53, struggled to respectfully coexist during a cast trip to Hawaii.

Before the vacation wrapped, Jackie invited Chantel to her hotel room for the opportunity to talk out and settle their drama. Things escalated, leading to the mother-daughter duo getting physical.

“I may not be proud of all my choices this season, but I’m also not ashamed,” Chantel wrote. “This is my real life. And I doubt anyone judging me lives a perfect one.”

Throughout the season, fans have commented via social media about the difficult family dynamic with Jackie and her daughter.

In her latest statement, Chantel acknowledged that not every Basketball Wives viewer will understand or take her side.

“I know what really happened on and off camera — all season long. So no — the internet cannot bully me into submission. Y’all know the TV character. I know the mother,” she said. “To those of you who’ve met me with threats, vile statements and extreme judgment — may you never understand my plight. Celebrating my darkest moments says more about you than it ever will about me.”

Us Weekly has reached out to Jackie’s rep for comment.

This season, the reality star — who will appear on season 3 of House of Villains in early 2026 — has maintained that she loves her daughter and did not want to verbally or physically fight on camera.

While cast member Ming Lee expressed her support for Chantel while in Hawaii, she offered an apology to Jackie via social media after watching the latest episode air.

“Jackie, I’ma keep it real. After watching last night’s episode and thinking back to how everything played out in real time, I owe you an apology,” she said via her Instagram Story on Tuesday, July 22. “If anything I said or did came off offensive, that was never my intention and I’m truly sorry. I was under the impression you swung first, and that shaped how I saw it. But watching it back, whew…it hit different. I don’t condone violence at all, and it was hard to watch.”

The whole situation reminded Ming “to stay out of family business and focus on my own damn business.”

“I really do hope y’all can heal from this,” she added, “because that was tough to witness.”

While the season may be hard to relive, Chantel believes she is not the only person dealing with tricky family dynamics. In her statement, she thanked fans who have come forward to share their own struggles in response to what has played out on screen.

“This is my real life. And I doubt anyone judging me lives a perfect one,” she said. “I see the hate mail. I see the judgment. But I also see all the messages that say: ‘I’ve dealt with this too. This reminds me so much of my situation.’”

Chantel added, “I will keep my head up, and my peace in focus, as I continue to grow — as a mother, a wife & a woman.”

Basketball Wives airs on VH1 Mondays at 8 p.m. ET.
