Brooke Hogan shut down speculation about her bereavement following the death of her father, Hulk Hogan.

“Yeah, I love being in the spotlight crying about my deceased dad in a super low-key location,” Brooke, 37, sarcastically wrote via her Instagram Stories on Thursday, August 14, after photos were recently taken of her crying. “Disrespectfully, 🖕OFF.”

She added, “I can’t go within my own neighborhood to watch a sunset and think of my dad? You people are SICK. I wish you the karma you deserve.”

Us Weekly confirmed in July that Hulk died at the age of 71 after suffering cardiac arrest. His cause of death was ruled as an acute myocardial infarction, which is commonly known as a heart attack.

The wrestling legend is survived by his wife, Sky Daily, as well as his two children and two grandkids. Hulk shared Brooke and her brother, Nick Hogan, with ex-wife Linda Hogan. Both Linda, 65, and Nick, 35, attended Hulk’s funeral earlier this month, while Brooke, who shares twins Oliver and Molly with husband Steven Oleksy, opted against attending the service.

“My father hated the morbidity of funerals. He didn’t want one,” Brooke wrote via Instagram on August 5, defending her decision to skip the memorial. “Although I know people grieve in many ways — and I’m so grateful for all celebrations and events organized to honor him, as his daughter, I had to make my own decision to honor him the best and most genuine way I knew how … privately. Daddy, we honored you in the simplest way that agreed with my soul. We took our babies to the beach, and put them in the same salty waters you loved.”

She concluded, “We love you and honor the things that made you so special. Every grain of sand and every wave reminded me of being your beach baby, and brought us closer to you. I pray you are at peace and know how dearly I love you.”

Brooke, who had been estranged from Hulk in the years preceding his passing, now prefers to live away from the limelight with her husband and children.

“As anybody’s life is, it takes crazy twists and turns,” Brooke exclusively told Us Weekly in June. “My 20s, I tell people, I blacked out from just the trauma and the filming and I didn’t get to enjoy my 20s. I feel like I just immediately had to grow up and be on TV and work, and those filming hours are so long.”
