Carly Pearce found herself at a hospital after trying to open a bottle of ranch dressing.

“Get ready with me with one hand,” Pearce, 35, joked via TikTok on Saturday, August 9. “So, last night, I was getting ready to eat dinner after my show, and I went to open a bottle of ranch dressing that was a glass bottle. When I went to open the bottle of ranch, it snapped off and a piece of glass cut my thumb.”

While the country singer initially thought it was no big deal, she decided to be extra safe and consult with some professionals.

“All of a sudden, I thought that ketchup was running down my hand, and it actually was blood,” she said. “We had a few paramedics on-site at the show, so we decided just to have a look at it. … And they told me I needed a few stitches.”

Pearce was told the injury to her thumb was “pretty deep,” so it would be best to go to the hospital.

“What I didn’t know was that the ride to the ER would be in an ambulance, and it’s policy that the patient has to sit on the stretcher and be strapped in,” she added.

After getting an x-ray and stitches — with some “painful” numbing cream — Pearce made it back home. Now, she’s trying to adjust to her new normal.

“I’m kind of figuring out how to do things, not the way that I would,” she said while trying to apply foundation and eyeliner to her face. “My assistant almost had to shave my left armpit because I didn’t think I could reach it. … It is interesting trying to figure out how to do these normal things, like pull your pants up after you pee.”

Country Music’s Biggest Couples

Pearce is currently scheduled to perform at the Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa, California, on Thursday, August 14.

Although she holds her microphone with her injured hand, the “Every Little Thing” singer is hoping to push through and put on a great show for fans. Pearce is even wondering whether it would be OK to bedazzle her new cast before showtime.

“The moral of the story is be careful when you’re opening up things,” she said in her TikTok video while trying to get her makeup done with one injured hand. “And don’t go — like my mother says I do — like a bull in a china cabinet.”
