Kesha got a sweet gift from a famous fan ahead of her concert at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, July 23.

The “Tik Tok” artist, 38, revealed that fellow singer Cassie sent her a bouquet of light pink roses to celebrate her turn on the stage at NYC’s most iconic venue. “Thank u Cassie 💕,” Kesha tweeted on Wednesday alongside a photo of the flowers in a vase backstage. “Love you sweet girl. my good luck angel for MSG.”

Kesha also mentioned the flowers during the show, telling the crowd about Cassie’s gift during an emotional moment.

“Earlier tonight, Cassie sent me flowers backstage,” she said after the audience gave her an extended standing ovation that brought her to tears. “I just want you to know that all of this love is not only for me, it’s for anyone who survived anything that they shouldn’t have had to survive. On behalf of me and my family, thank you. And a lot of other people that I don’t even know your story, but I feel like to be an Animal, we’re tough motherf***ers.”

Cassie’s gift came weeks after Kesha publicly showed her support for the “Me & U” singer following the news that Sean “Diddy” Combs was partially acquitted in his federal trial following his September 2024 arrest on charges of sex trafficking, transportation to engage in prostitution and racketeering conspiracy. (Diddy, 55, pleaded not guilty and denied all the allegations against him.)

On July 2, the jury found the disgraced mogul guilty on two counts of transportation but acquitted him of the racketeering and sex trafficking charges.

Before the verdict, Cassie, 38, spent four days testifying about her relationship with Diddy, which lasted off and on from 2007 to 2018. In addition to claiming he physically abused her, she alleged that he forced her to participate in “freak off” sex parties, which would sometimes last for days. She claimed that freak offs happened so regularly that they “became a job” for her.

After the jury handed down their verdict, Kesha tweeted her support for Cassie, whose testimony was the basis for much of the government’s case against Diddy.

“Cassie, I believe you. I love you,” she wrote via X on July 2. “Your strength is a beacon for every survivor.”

Kesha has been an outspoken activist for survivors of sexual assault after accusing her former producer Dr. Luke (real name Łukasz Gottwald) of sexual, physical and emotional abuse in 2014. Luke, 51, denied her claims and subsequently sued her for defamation. The duo settled out of court in 2023.

During the legal battle, Kesha asked to be released from her contract with Luke’s label, Kemosabe Records, but her request was denied. She released one final album with Kemosabe in May 2023, titled Gag Order.

Her July 2024 single “Joyride” was the first song she released as an independent artist since parting ways with Luke and Kemosabe.

“I feel free for the first time since I was 18 years old,” she said at the time. “I so appreciate every single person that has streamed ‘Joyride,’ and I love the videos that are being made. I’ve spent almost 10 years in litigation and millions of dollars in legal fees. This joy has been hard-fought for me, so I love that people are ready to ‘Joyride’ with me.”
