Real Housewives of New Jersey star Danielle Cabral did not test-shoot with new cast members — but has some thoughts on the future of the series.
“I think we should all be very excited about the test shooting and who they’re potentially looking to add,” Danielle, 40, told Us Weekly exclusively on the MTV VMAs red carpet on Sunday, September 7. “We need fresh. We need new. We need something more than what we were dealing with.”
Danielle teased that Bravo viewers are “gonna be very happy with how Jersey is turning out” going forward.
RHONJ took a hiatus following the show’s 14th season, which came to an end last year, after drama between several members of the cast hit a fever pitch. Us Weekly broke the news last week that some of the show’s cast returned last month to test-film with “potential new cast members,” a common practice in the reality TV world.
'RHONJ' Stars Share Their Honest Thoughts About the Show's Future
“They want to see how the new girls work on camera with some veteran cast members from the show,” the source told Us.
Danielle told Us on Sunday that she knew some of the new women who took part in the test shoot. (The same insider told Us that production was looking at Michelle Barone.)

“I’m excited about their potential in the friend group, because they’re cool,” Danielle said. “They’re really cool girls.”
Danielle confirmed to Us that she was not one of the cast members asked to film. (Us reported that Margaret Josephs, Dolores Catania and Melissa Gorga took part in the test-shoot.)
“I wasn’t, but that’s OK. I think they’re getting it right,” Danielle said. “The new is really cool, and I think everybody’s gonna be happy.”
Danielle made her debut as a main cast member on the show when season 13 premiered in 2023. She returned for the show’s 14th season. A spokesperson for Bravo told Us that “no official casting decisions have been made” just yet, but Danielle hinted that an announcement is “coming soon.”
Margaret Josephs Would Be 'Fine' Not Returning for Another 'RHONJ' Season
Even though Danielle’s future with RHONJ is still up in the air, she’s ready for whatever’s next.
“If that’s the case, if I don’t come back, it was a wild two rides. But if I do, I think you’re gonna see a different Housewife come back,” she said. “I’m not a deer in headlights, and I know what I signed up for now.”
Danielle added, “Most importantly, I love some of these women on a personal level that I didn’t get to before we were filming. It’s a totally different dynamic.”
