Denise Richards’ estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, filed a police report against the actress days after she accused him of domestic violence, Us Weekly can exclusively report.

Sources tell Us that Phypers, 52, went into the Lost Hills station for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department on Sunday, July 20. The insiders tell Us the report that he filed was over alleged vandalism, theft and assault.

A rep for the Sheriff’s Department confirmed Phypers filed the report but could not disclose the details of the allegations.

As Us previously reported, Phypers also sent an emotional letter to close friends and family claiming Richards, 54, desperately needs help and denying her claims he abused her.

“I’m reaching out today not in anger, but in heartbreak — as a man, a husband, a son, a brother, and a father who has spent years loving, supporting, and protecting his family,” the letter read. “I love my wife more than words can ever fully express. That has never changed. But the recent public accusations made against me are not only false — they are devastating.”

Phypers added, “I have never, ever physically harmed my wife, and I did not give her a black eye. I have only ever stepped in to protect her or others — including separating her from physically attacking our daughter — always coming from a place of care and concern.”

“I say this with love, not judgment: Denise needs intervention,” he claimed. “Some of you know this has been an issue for over 20 years.”

“I ask each of you — from a place of love and truth — to pray for Denise. To pray for healing, for clarity, and for her to get the help she so desperately needs. And to protect our family — especially my elderly parents — from the false narratives being spread,” Phypers wrote in his email.

Phypers spoke to TMZ about the breakup. During the interview, he said he believes Richards had smashed his phone.

As Us previously reported, Phypers filed for divorce on July 7, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

A couple of days later, Richards pleaded for a restraining order, claiming Phypers had been physically and emotionally abusive.

The former RHOBH star said, “Throughout our relationship, Aaron would frequently violently choke me, violently squeeze my head with both hands, tightly squeeze my arms, violently slap me in my face and head, aggressively slam my head into the bathroom towel rack, threaten to kill me, hold me down with his knee on my back to the point where I would have to plead with him to get off me so that he would not kill me and hack into my laptop and phone and download all of my text messages.”

She claimed Phypers downloaded her texts and photos from her iCloud onto his phone. She detailed an alleged fight on July 4 where he called her a “c*** whore.” Richards attached photos of a black eye injury allegedly caused by Phypers.

Phypers denied the abuse claims. He told Us, “These accusations are completely false and deeply hurtful. Denise and I, like many couples, have faced our share of challenges, but any suggestion of abuse is categorically untrue. I have always tried to approach our marriage with love, patience, and respect. I ask for privacy as we navigate personal matters, and I hope that the public and media will refrain from spreading harmful and baseless claims.”

The court granted Richards a temporary restraining order requiring Phypers to stay away from her until a future court hearing.
