Ryan Reynolds deserves some credit for helping Astronomer address the Coldplay kiss cam scandal.

Days after Gwyneth Paltrow appeared as the company’s “Temporary Spokesperson” in a viral ad, Us Weekly has learned Reynolds’ marketing firm, Maximum Effort, was responsible for making the ad.

“Thank you for your interest in Maximum Effort, @astronomerio!” the company wrote via X on Sunday, July 27. “We’ll now get back to what we do best: motion pictures with Hugh Jackman, Fastvertising and Wrexham football. We’ll leave data workflow automation to  ̶G̶w̶y̶n̶e̶t̶h̶ ̶P̶a̶ Astronomer.”

Maximum Effort was founded in 2018 by Reynolds, 48, and George Dewey. The company makes “movies, shows, ads, investments and cocktails for the personal amusement of Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds,” per its website.

On Friday, July 25, Astronomer surprised fans when they enlisted the help of Chris Martin’s ex-wife for a new promotional video in the wake of the Coldplay cheating scandal.

In the viral video, Paltrow, 52, introduced her role for the company while poking fun at all of the attention surrounding the business.

“I’ve been hired on a very temporary basis to speak on behalf of the 300+ employees at Astronomer,” she said. “Yes, Astronomer is the best place to run a patchy airflow, unifying the experience of running data ML and AI pipelines at scale. We’ve been thrilled so many people have a newfound interest in data workflow automation.”

Astronomer executives Kristin Cabot and Andy Byron made headlines when they attended Coldplay’s concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts, on July 16.

They were captured on a Kiss Cam getting cozy despite both reportedly being married to other people.

Cabot, 52 has since stepped down, while Byron, 50, has been placed on leave as Astronomer continues a formal investigation. Neither party has publicly commented on the status of their relationship.

Astronomer’s interim CEO Pete DeJoy expressed his approval of Paltrow’s ad and gave credit to Maximum Effort for making the vision come to life.

“I’d also like to thank the team at Maximum Effort for their remarkable work with our very temporary spokesperson,” DeJoy wrote via LinkedIn on Sunday. “As Gwyneth Paltrow said, now it’s time for us to return to what we do best: delivering game-changing results for our customers. We look forward to what this next chapter holds for Astronomer.”

As for the Internet, it’s still having fun with the scandal thanks to clever and unique memes.

Coldplay also appears to still be using the kiss cam during concerts. Over the weekend, Martin, 48, gave a shout-out to soccer star Lionel Messi, who was shown on the jumbotron with his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo.
