Fans of Jennifer Lopez have finally gotten another glimpse of her role in Kiss of the Spider Woman in a new trailer.
The latest teaser, which dropped on Wednesday, August 20, highlighted Lopez’s versatility as a singer, dancer and actress while portraying Ingrid Luna/Aurora/The Spider Woman. Throughout the trailer, she’s the pinnacle of Old Hollywood glamour in an array of wigs, including a bleach blonde hairdo styled in romantic curls.
Lopez, 56, is also seen dancing in the center of a ballroom as partygoers cheer her on and clap around her. She shows off her legs in a structured white blazer with a matching fedora in another dance sequence. The singer later dons a black bob haircut with a bold, dark lipstick color while belting the captivating track “Kiss of the Spider Woman.”
Kiss of the Spider Woman, which is based on the stage musical of the same name, also stars Diego Luna as Valentín Arregui/Armando, Tonatiuh as Luis Molina/Kendall Nesbitt, Tony Dovolani as Johnny Desiderio, Josefina Scaglione as Marta and Bruno Bichir as The Warden.

“Valentín, a political prisoner, shares a cell with Molina, convicted for public indecency. An unlikely bond forms as Molina recounts a Hollywood musical plot starring Ingrid Luna,” the official synopsis of the film says.
The Bill Condon–directed iteration is already generating a lot of buzz surrounding whether Lopez will earn her first Oscar nomination — or even win.
“An oscar-worthy performance 
,” one person commented underneath the trailer on Lopez’s YouTube page.
“I already see this nominated go QUEEN,” a second person agreed, while a third fan said, “OMG I got chills! Looks absolutely PHENOMENAL!!! Expect numerous Oscar noms from this people! Early reviews are glowing, Oscar buzz is strong and everything they’ve showed is flawless!!! CANNOT WAIT!!! .”

“I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life,” she said at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, in July. “The reason I even wanted to be in this business is because my mom would sit me in front of the TV and [West Side Story] would come on once a year. I remember I was mesmerized and was like, ‘That’s what I want to do.’ That was always my goal.”
Lopez choked back tears, adding, “This is the first time I actually got to do it. This man made my dream come true!”

For Condon, 69, the experience of working on the film was surreal, saying it was “a movie I’ve wanted to make my entire life.”
“Crucially, the most important thing is that we have to bridge these differences,” he said of the message of the film. “There’s a sense in this movie that the only way through is love and kindness. It became clear that for years, trans people were being used as the latest victims of the culture war. It did feel as if no matter what happened, this is something we have to live with and it’s not going to go away. And again, to me, the promise of the movie is that somehow people can go beyond that and see each other as individuals.”
Kiss of the Spider Woman will be released theatrically on October 10.
