Jennifer Lopez Reacts to Huge Cricket Crawling Up Her Body During Concert

Jennifer Lopez didn’t get loud when a huge bug crawled up her body during a recent performance.

Lopez, 56, remained calm and collected when a cricket landed on her during her concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on Sunday, August 10, as seen in video footage shared via the Instagram page for the “Let’s Get Loud” singer’s On the J. Lo newsletter. She continued to sing even as the insect scurried up her black bodysuit with fishnet cutouts, crawling all the way to her neck. It wasn’t until Lopez sang the final notes of her ballad that she finally flicked the cricket off her neck with her arm outstretched, flashing a huge smile.

“It was tickling me,” she told the cheering crowd.

“Plot twist: @JLo just started rehearsals for Kiss of the Cricket Woman… on stage… in real time. ,” the caption read, putting a spin on Lopez’s upcoming musical drama film, Kiss of the Spider Woman.

Fans in the comments section praised Lopez’s poise in the creepy moment.

“A true professional! ,” one user wrote, while another person added, “She is just the best! really fun moment but so professional at the same time! .”

“Handled it so well, I would have collapsed right there ,” a third fan commented.

This summer, Lopez has been traveling the world on her Up All Night: Live in 2025 tour, which began in Pontevedra, Spain, on July 8. She made several stops throughout Spain before moving on to Hungary, Italy, Turkey, Poland, Romania, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt in July. At the beginning of August, Lopez performed in Astana, Kazakhstan; Yerevan, Armenia; Istanbul, Turkey; and Tashkent, Uzbekistan, before returning to Kazakhstan on Sunday night.

Lopez will complete the tour in Sardinia, Italy, on Tuesday, August 12.

The cricket incident is not the first mishap the Atlas star has experienced on this tour. During her concert in Warsaw, Poland, the shimmery, tasseled skirt that Lopez wore over a gold two-piece set fell right off her body mid-performance, as seen in video footage captured by journalist Patryk Wasowski and shared via Instagram.

Though Lopez was visibly surprised by the wardrobe malfunction, she smiled and twirled around to show off her sparkly bottoms.

“I’m out here in my underwear,” she joked as a dancer attempted to help her put the skirt back on. “That’s gonna be everywhere.”

Lopez added, “I’m glad that they reinforced that costume. And I’m glad I had underwear on. I don’t usually wear underwear.”

Lopez later threw the skirt into the crowd and told her fans to “keep it,” joking that she didn’t “want it back.”

Lopez’s tour comes one year after she canceled her This Is Me… Live tour amid her divorce from Ben Affleck, which was finalized this February.

“Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family and close friends,” Live Nation announced at the time.

Meanwhile, Lopez wrote in an email to fans, “I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time …”
