Kid Cudi turned down testifying in the trial against Sean “Diddy” Combs twice before being subpoenaed to take the stand.

“I hated every minute of it,” Cudi, 41, said during the Wednesday, August 13, episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. “I did not want to do it, but then I thought about — when I was up there — I’m here to support Cassie.”

He added, “Cassie is my friend, and I love her and I want to see her do well.”

Cudi (real name Scott Mescudi) took the stand and testified against Diddy, 55, in May because of his romantic past with Diddy’s ex, singer Cassie (real name Casandra Ventura). Cudi alleged that Diddy was “abusive” to Cassie during their relationship.

“I’ve always just wanted to see her thrive and do well and be happy. I know she was living a nightmare,” Cudi continued during Wednesday’s podcast episode. “I just was there to support her. That’s what, kind of, gave me peace with it. When I sat down in that chair, it was just about, ‘Damn, I don’t want to do this.’ To being like, ‘Oh man, I got to hold homegirl down and look out for her.’”

During his May testimony, Cudi also claimed that Diddy broke into his house while he and Cassie were together. After he and Cassie split in 2011, Cudi recalled his car being lit on fire.

“It was crazy, man. In the moment it was just crazy,” Cudi shared during his “Call Her Daddy” episode. “I had a hard time understanding if it was reality. I was like, ‘Am I in a movie? What the f*** is going on?’ … It was it was just chaotic and intense.”

He added, “Before all this stuff happened and it came out again. Over the years, I just thought about it as like just some wild s*** that happened in my rock and roll life.”

Aside from the content in Cudi’s May testimony, the rapper also made headlines for the outfit he wore to court — which was actually a somewhat calculated move.

“I’m thinking about what do I wear, man? Do I have to be like f***ing suit or something? I was like, man, f*** this s***. This is what I’m wearing today. I’m going to the f***ing s*** in this. I’m not dressing up for this s***,” he said. “I’m coming in there with my Levis’s and my leather jacket, and that’s it.”
