New mom Kristen Doute has nothing but love (and trust) for longtime friend and costar Brittany Cartwright.
“We were in our pediatrician’s office and Brittany is our emergency contact in California,” Kristen, 42, exclusively shared in her Us Weekly cover story, on newsstands now. “I told her that actually. I was like, ‘So I didn’t ask you ahead of time, but you’re Kaia’s emergency contact.’ She loves it.”
Kristen’s life was changed forever when she welcomed her first child with fiancé Luke Broderick on June 11.
While on a shoot with Us to introduce her daughter, Kaia Lily, The Valley star expressed gratitude to Brittany, 36, for offering support both on and off camera.
Inside Pregnant Kristen Doute’s ‘Truly Special’ Baby Shower
“[Brittany’s] been over a couple of times, but she’s so excited about it,” Kristen gushed to Us. “She knew the gender of our baby before we did, so it only makes perfect sense. She lives right down the street from us. I’m over there all the time.”

When asked if she would let Brittany’s estranged husband, Jax Taylor, babysit her daughter, Kristen joked that she will be putting her trust in her close gal pal only.
“I wouldn’t let Jax babysit Luke’s Gecko — who requires no work whatsoever,” she said with a laugh. “Absolutely not. I wouldn’t let Jax babysit my Yeti. Like, no.”
All jokes aside, Brittany and Jax’s 4-year-old Cruz has already had the opportunity to meet baby Kaia. Spoiler alert: There was no drama.
The Valley star Zack Wickham took care of Kristen and Luke’s house while they were in the hospital.

Costar Jesse Lally has also been able to continue his bromance with Luke, 33, by gifting him a bottle of scotch at the hospital.
“He’s given a lot of really amazing advice as a girl dad to Luke and just constantly checking in on us and seeing if we need anything,” Kristen revealed. “Jesse’s been fantastic.”

As for Nia Sanchez and Danny Booko, Kristen struggled to fully express how supportive both parents have been as she navigated her pregnancy at the same time they prepared for their fourth child.
“Having Nia has been the most helpful because she’s going through the exact same thing I am,” Kristen told Us. “We have a group text with Nia, Danny, Luke and me, and even if I’m texting Nia one-on-one, she’ll reel it back to the four of us and she’s like, ‘Daniel really wants to be involved.’ It’s just really great to have the two of them.”
