Lauren Sanchez Reacts to Katy Perry's Wedding Absence Amid Orlando Spotting

Lauren Sánchez reacted to Katy Perry presumably missing her lavish Italian wedding to billionaire Jeff Bezos.

“We miss you Katy ,” Sánchez, 55, wrote via Instagram comment on Friday, June 27, after Perry, 40, shared images from the Australian leg of her Lifetimes Tour.

Sánchez and Bezos, 61, are set to get married later this month in a luxe ceremony held in Venice. Perry’s ex-fiancé, Orlando Bloom, was recently spotted in the City of Bridges himself, greeting fellow wedding guests Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner. (Us Weekly broke the news of Perry and Bloom’s split earlier this week.)

Perry and Sánchez have been friends since at least earlier this year, when they both traveled to space on the same all-female Blue Origin rocket in April.

“All of these women are storytellers in their own right,” Sánchez told Elle ahead of the launch. “They’re going to go up to space and be able to spread what they felt in different ways.”

She added, “I thought becoming a pilot was a huge dream, and that happened, and it was amazing, but I never dreamed of going to space. I didn’t even think it was a possibility. Ever. And now I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, we’re actually doing it.’ Jeff was telling Katy and myself, ‘It’s going to change you more than you know.’”

The next month, Perry joined Sánchez and other celebrity friends at a glamorous bachelorette weekend in Paris.

“Forever starts with friendship, surrounded by the women who’ve lifted me up, illuminated my path in dark times, and shaped my heart along the way,” Sánchez wrote via Instagram on May 15.

Perry replied in the comments section, writing, “Queen of all of our hearts .”

Sánchez and the Amazon founder have been together since January 2019, eventually getting engaged in May 2023.

“We’re still thinking about the wedding [and] what it’s going to be. Is it going to be big? Is it going to be overseas? We don’t know yet. We’ve only been engaged [for] five months,” she told Vogue in November 2023. “When he opened the [ring] box, I think I blacked out a bit. … I am looking forward to being Mrs. Bezos. I think there are a lot of opportunities that come with that, and I take those opportunities very seriously. We always look at each other and go, ‘We’re the team.’ So everything’s shared.”

Bezos was previously married to MacKenzie Scott, with whom he shares four kids, from 1993 to 2019. Sánchez, for her part, shares two children with ex-husband Patrick Whitesell.
