The Law & Order universe is expanding in the United States with the latest spinoff: Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent.
News broke in May that The CW acquired the U.S. broadcast rights to seasons 1 and 2 of the Canadian procedural. Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent initially debuted in its home country in 2024 and follows the format of Dick Wolf‘s Law & Order franchise but was developed by Rene Balcer for Universal Television.
“Law & Order Criminal Intent: Toronto is the next gripping chapter of one of the greatest and most recognizable broadcast television brands of all time,” The CW president Brad Schwartz told Variety at the time. “And we can’t wait to bring this series to The CW this fall.”
Like the series before it, Law & Order Toronto follows the lives of the police and prosecutors who investigate crimes in their respective cities.

The current lineup in the U.S. includes Law & Order, SVU, Law & Order: Organized Crime and now Toronto.
