Michael Jackson’s eldest child, Prince Jackson, is set to walk down the aisle.
Prince, 28, whose real name is Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., announced via Instagram on Sunday, August 26, that he was engaged to his college sweetheart Molly Schirmang after eight years of dating.
“8 years down to go. Molly and I have spent a lot of time together and made incredible memories. We’ve traveled the world, graduated and grown so much together,” Prince captioned a carousel of photos that captured the couple’s adventures. “I’m excited for this next chapter in our lives as we continue to grow and make great memories. I love you babs
.”
In the carousel, Schirmang and Prince, who is the son of Michael and second wife Debbie Rowe, were seen kissing in a park while showing off Schirmang’s engagement ring, hiking and kayaking together and attending red carpet events in costumes.
Michael Jackson’s Son Prince Shares Pressure of ‘Big Shoes to Fill’
Rowe, 66, also shared daughter Paris Jackson and son Bigi Jackson with Michael, who died at the age of 50 in June 2009. (Bigi, who was named Blanket before changing his name in 2015, arrived via a surrogate in 2002 after Rowe gave birth to Paris, 27, in 1998.)
Fans of the pop legend took to the comments section in Prince’s post to share their joy over Prince’s engagement. “Your father would be so happy for you!” wrote one Instagram follower, while another commented, “I would have liked to have seen him do the moonwalk at the reception!”
Prince has always maintained a low profile, only rarely stepping out to attend public events. The business administration graduate made a rare appearance in Australia in March, attending the Australian premiere of MJ: The Musical in Sydney.

While he limits his public appearances, Prince did discuss his famous father during a December 2024 interview with the Associated Press. He said at the time that didn’t “know if I could ever” fill his father’s shoes. “But I wear it [his family history] with … a badge of honor.”
The interview also discussed Michael’s relationship with Paris and his younger brother Bigi, 22. “My siblings and I, we each kind of got a piece of him in different ways,” Prince told the outlet at the time. “For me, it’s that philanthropic kind of giving back, and that’s where I’m really passionate about. I just hope the work that we do makes him proud.”
The siblings have seemingly remained close over the years with all three attending the London premiere of MJ: The Musical together in March 2024. The trio walked the event’s red carpet and posed for photos together.
