Naomi Watts completely transformed into Jackie Kennedy while filming Ryan Murphy’s upcoming series, American Love Story.
The first shots of Watts, 56, in character as Jackie — who was married to President John F. Kennedy and died from cancer at age 64 in 1994 — were released on Monday, July 21, and made Us do a double-take. Instead of donning her go-to platinum blonde strands, Watts rocked chocolate brown hair cut to her shoulders and styled in a bouncy blowout, just as Jackie wore.
Watts styled the look with a bright yellow bucket hat, massive black sunglasses and gold jewelry, including delicate earrings and a statement necklace. She also wore a black loose-fitted blouse, a leather belt and dress pants.
While filming, Watts sat next to Paul Kelly, who plays John F. Kennedy Jr. in the upcoming show. Kelly opted for an all-white ensemble featuring a dress shirt and coordinating bottoms. He completed his look with brown leather shoes and a classy watch.
Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s Hairstylist Slams 'American Love Story’ Hair
Also starring in the show is Sarah Pidgeon, who plays Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. In June, social media users criticized Pidgeon’s outfit on set, which included high-top Chuck Taylors from Converse. While followers thought the kicks were something the style icon would never be seen in, author Elizabeth Beller set the record straight and proved that she actually did wear the footwear.

In her May 2024 book, Once Upon a Time: The Captivating Life of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, Beller wrote, “At times, when she was not at work, she dressed like a Bloomsbury bohemian in flowing dresses accessorized with Chuck Taylors.”

Bessette-Kennedy died at age 33 in a 1999 plane crash along with John F. Kennedy Jr., who was piloting the plane. He was 38 at the time. Bessette-Kennedy’s sister, Lauren, 34, also died in the crash.
