Olivia Culpo is prioritizing her comfort — especially while she recovers from giving birth.
Days after critics poked fun at Culpo, 33, for a video in which she showed off what she packed in her hospital bag, the new mom clapped back at the haters in an Instagram Story on Monday, July 15.
“Look what I still couldn’t part ways with,” Culpo, who welcomed daughter Colette via C-section on Sunday, July 13, wrote over a video of flameless candles lit up on a shelf.
“I got roasted a little for what I packed,” the model admitted. “But I ended up using it ALL. When you’re recovering from a C-section and stuck in the hospital for 3-4 plus days, having your creature comforts is no joke. Sharing in case it helps another comfort queen.”
Olivia Culpo and Christian McCaffrey Disagree About Twinning With Their Baby
Culpo shared a deep dive into her hospital packing process, which included two large suitcases, in a July 11 TikTok video.
“I am such a pillow snob, so I knew that I was going to need specific pillows. It’s just, like, a me thing. I don’t know what the hospital pillows are like, but I am not taking my chances. I need to get my beauty sleep. I’m gonna be a mom!” she began.
Culpo also packed “extra fluffy” twin size comforters for herself and husband Christian McCaffrey, sleep masks, aromatherapy spray, mini fans and her flameless candles. Additionally, she brought post-birth kits for both a C-section and a vaginal birth, since she wasn’t sure at the time which kind of birth she would have. She finished off her packing list with pajamas, makeup, haircare, skincare and breastfeeding products.
“A lot of this stuff is more luxuries as opposed to essentials,” Culpo admitted. “And I’m aware of that. I thought I would make my hospital stay more comfortable.”

Many fans in the comments told Culpo that she likely wouldn’t use many of the items she packed.
“Is this a birthing vacation? I literally laughed out loud. ,” one user wrote, while another person commented, “Let me tell you, i didn’t even open my hospital bag. I used everything the hospital provided
.”
Others defended Culpo and encouraged her to make herself comfortable during her hospital stay.
“As a labor nurse … literally bring whatever you want, comfort is important, especially if you have a c-section and have a longer hospital stay!” one fan added.
“Hating on this is crazy … she’s about to give BIRTH!!! to a whole human!!! God forbid she wants to feel as comfortable as possible,” another user wrote.
