Sterling K. Brown's Wife Reacts to Fans Finding His Scottish Doppelganger

Sterling K. Brown, apparently, has a Scottish lookalike going viral on TikTok — and the actor’s wife, Ryan Michelle Bathé, sees the resemblance.

“I think about maybe 495 people across 720 platforms have posted and tagged me about my Scottish husband,” Bathé, 49, said in a Friday, August 15, TikTok video, bursting into laughter. “I have seen it and I see it, yes. Does he look like Sterling K. Brown? He absolutely does.”

She continued, “Is that Sterling K. Brown? No, it is not Sterling K. Brown, but if this doesn’t put an end to these god-awful diaspora wars, child, I don’t know. I think this is the ancestors’ way of saying, ‘If you don’t shut up talking about each other on these damn apps. If you got something bad to say … say to the wall.’”

Many United States-based TikTok users have recently found themselves on the “Black Scottish” side of the platform’s algorithm, noticing that a Glasgow-based fitness trainer with the username “Starboy Fitness” bears a striking resemblance to Brown, 49.

“If this Scottish man can sit up here, and look like he is Sterling K. Brown’s brother — not from the same mother and father — that is not our Lord’s way of saying we are all from the same gang,” Bathé added. “We are all from the same people. If that’s not the way, I don’t know what is.”

Bathé did point out that the Glaswegian fitness trainer is not actually related to Brown.

“There are people in Sterling’s family [who] don’t look as much like Sterling as that man,” Bathé added. “That man looks more like my husband than my husband’s brother. He looks more like my husband than my child.”

The Paradise star and Bathé, who have been married since 2007, are parents to sons Andrew and Amaré.

Starboy, 43, has also seen the uncanny resemblance sparking viral chatter.

“Guys, the entertainment on that last post in the last 24 hours has been crazy,” Starboy said in a Friday video on his page. “Welcome to ‘Black Scottish TikTok.’ I’m [going to] slow down so that you can understand me.”

He added, “I’m not completely sure how this got to America, but welcome. There’s a number of Black Scottish creators. … The love from the U.S. has been crazy.”

After Starboy posted a separate video about life in Scotland on Saturday, August 16, his comments were flooded with comparisons to Brown.

“Even Sterling K. Brown’s wife said y’all look alike,” a social media user wrote in the comments section. “They done ran to her page.”

Starboy replied, adding, “Haha she was informed on every platform .”
