T.J. Holmes is now part of The Summer I Turned Pretty shipping war thanks to his daughter — but is he Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah?

“I’m coming on now so you all can hear my continuation of a shouting match I’ve been having with a 12-year-old child for the past hour,” Holmes, 48, who shares daughter Sabine with ex-wife Marilee Fiebig, said on the Thursday, August 21, episode of his “Amy and T.J.” podcast. “What could I — a 48-year-old grown ass man be arguing with a 12-year-old child about? And allowing her to shout at me? This is what we’re arguing over Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah.”

Holmes was joined by Sabine so they could debate their hot takes on the hit Prime Video series.

“This show is a phenomenon that I — a 48-year-old Black man — am arguing with his 12-year-old daughter about what some fictional white kids are doing in Massachusetts during the summer,” Holmes quipped. “This is a problem for me. We are arguing. We are literally shouting at each other about which one folks should be on board with.”

'The Summer I Turned Pretty' Celeb Fans Weigh In on Team Conrad or Jeremiah

The dad-daughter duo clarified that they haven’t seen all episodes of the show. While Sabine has made it up to the beginning of season 2, Holmes has watched more sporadically and only had basic knowledge up to the end of the first season. (For reference, Prime Video released episode 7 of season 3 on Wednesday, August 20.)

“I should give that clarity. Folks, we are arguing over a show we’re not even up to date on,” Holmes noted before revealing himself as Team Conrad (Chris Briney) while his daughter is rooting for Gavin Casalegno‘s Jeremiah. “I am very much solid in the Team Conrad camp. [Sabine] is so uncomfortable and pissed at me for liking Conrad.”

Based on Jenny Han‘s book series of the same name, The Summer I Turned Pretty centers on Belly (Lola Tung) and her brother, Steven (Sean Kaufman), who spend the summer visiting a beach house belonging to their childhood friends, Conrad (Briney) and Jeremiah (Casalegno). After initially having a crush on Conrad, Belly’s life gets more complicated when she finds herself developing feelings for Jeremiah.

Sabine explained on Thursday’s podcast why she didn’t see her dad’s perspective on the show.

Biggest Differences Between ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ TV Series and Books

“My problem with Conrad is I think he’s just not very interested. There was a time on the dock where they kissed — or almost kissed — and the next day he was dismissive and acted like he didn’t remember that happened,” Sabine said while Holmes added, “See, I like Conrad because he is just cool. He’s chill. He’s a little older and I haven’t seen enough of the show but I am solidly with Conrad.”

While Holmes and Sabine didn’t get on the same page by the end of the podcast, they join a wide variety of celebrities divided on the issue. Lauren Graham previously shared her thoughts on the love triangle while hanging out with Han, saying in an Instagram video, “You never pick a team.”

Lizzo, meanwhile, has shown her support for Team Jeremiah with several TikToks. Taylor Lautner and Taylor Dome have also publicly discussed not being on the same side — with the actor favoring Jeremiah over Conrad.

The Summer I Turned Pretty airs on Prime Video Wednesdays.
