The White House is not enjoying the viewpoints of some past and present cohosts of The View.

Rosie O’Donnell and ‘Joyless’ Behar are irrelevant losers with too much time on their hands, whining about a failing talk show while everyday Americans are working hard,” White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly on Thursday, August 7. “Our country is better off with Rosie living abroad — and we can all hope ‘Joyless’ Behar will join her next!”

In March, O’Donnell, 63, announced that she had moved to Ireland and was in the process of getting her citizenship. She stressed that the move was what she “needed to do for the safety and sanity” of herself and her nonbinary child, Clay, 12, who has autism.

The White House’s statement came after O’Donnell shared a post via TikTok, where she addressed rumors surrounding The View.

'The View' Cohosts Through the Years and Why They Left

“You know what I just read today? ABC is ‘reviewing the liberal bias’ on The View. The VIEW. The show with five women speaking their own opinions — That’s the threat now,” she wrote on Wednesday, August 6. “Because it’s not enough to run the country into the ground. You have to control what people SEE, what they HEAR, what they think.”

O’Donnell — who left the show in February 2015 to focus on her family — continued, “And The View? Well, that’s a little too much woman — a little too much truth — a little too much Joy Behar saying, ‘I don’t think the insurrection was a tourist visit, Karen.’ Apparently, the truth is dangerous now.”

In recent seasons, several cohosts of The View — including Behar, 82 — have been critical of some of President Donald Trump’s policies while he’s in office.

At the same time, The View has ranked No. 1 in households and total viewers among all network daytime talk shows and news programs for the fifth straight season.

Currently, cohosts Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sunny Hostin are on a regularly scheduled summer hiatus. The show will return for season 29 in September.

“Don’t forget to check out our encore presentations, and we’ll see you in September,” Behar said at the end of the July 25 episode. “Until then, have a great day, have a great vacation, everyone, and take a little time to enjoy the summer!”

Us Weekly has reached out to O’Donnell’s rep and The View for comment.

The View airs on ABC weekdays at 11 a.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT.
