The Golden Bachelor alum Theresa Nist admitted she’s curious what ex-husband Gerry Turner will reveal about their marriage in his memoir.

Gerry, 74, announced in May that he was writing a tell-all book titled Golden Years: What I’ve Learned From Love, Loss, and Reality TV, about his time on the ABC dating show. The retired restaurateur is expected to open up about why his marriage to Theresa, 72, broke down three months after their TV wedding in January 2024.

The memoir came up when Theresa and fellow Golden Bachelor contestants Kathy Swarts and Susan Noles reunited for an episode of the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast on Wednesday, August 20.

“[I’m] anxious to see what he’s going to say in the book,” Theresa admitted. “I actually asked him, I said, ‘So, what are you going to say in the book?’ He said, ‘Oh, well, I’m under contract, I can’t say anything.’”

Susan recalled how Gerry informed several of the contestants that he planned to write about The Golden Bachelor in his upcoming book.

“He sent a text that his book is coming out this fall, I think November. ‘It’s going to go fast, so reserve yours now,’” she said. “And Nancy [Hulkower] texted him and said, ‘Well, Gerry, I think it would be lovely if you gave all of us Goldens a copy.’ He didn’t respond.”

As the trio continued discussing Golden Years, Kathy encouraged Gerry to write about all of the Golden Bachelor women in a positive light.

“He better have said nice things about all of us,” Kathy declared.

This isn’t the first time Theresa has confessed to having conflicted feelings over her husband’s memoir. In June, she admitted exclusively to Us Weekly that she had “no idea what he’s writing” in Golden Years.

“We never really had the conversation that led to the breakup. Things just happened. Gerry said at one point, ‘This isn’t going to work out, is it?’ and that was the end of it,” she said. “Nothing was discussed. And not one discussion about his being ill being the reason. That’s what makes me get concerned about what he could possibly say in a book.”

Theresa assured Us that although she has concerns over the memoir, she ultimately believes everything “worked out the way it was supposed to work out” in her marriage.

“I really am happy for him. If he had to go find his person by going this circuitous route … he found someone that really suits him. That’s wonderful,” she said, in reference to Gerry’s subsequent relationship with Lana Sutton.

Gerry Turner Says Theresa Marriage Became 'Less of a Priority' Amid Cancer

Another major revelation came out during Theresa’s reunion with her Golden Bachelor costars on the podcast, as Kathy claimed that Gerry dated another cast member, Christina Kempton, following his divorce. Theresa disclosed that she was “the one who suggested he go out with Christina,” though the relationship was short-lived.

Gerry is also expected to delve into his battle with cancer in Golden Years. He announced in December 2024 that he had been diagnosed with an incurable bone marrow cancer called Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia.

“Unfortunately, there’s no cure for it. So that weighs heavily in every decision I make,” he told People. “It was like 10 tons of concrete were just dropped on me. And I was a bit in denial for a while, I didn’t want to admit to it.”

He added, “I’m going to pack as much fun as I possibly can into my life and enjoy every moment. And when I’m gone, I’m gone, but I’m not going to have regrets.”

Golden Years: What I’ve Learned From Love, Loss, and Reality TV will be released November 4.
