Carla Triplett made The Biggest Loser history when she appeared on the show’s seventh season in 2009 at 379 pounds — the heaviest for a contestant at the time.
But as she showed during her run on the show, Triplett was committed to bettering her life. By the time she was eliminated in week five, she was down to 251 pounds. She has had ups and downs in her weight loss journey since then, and while she now lives a more private life, she has no problem sharing what she’s comfortable with on social media.
Triplett’s priorities seem to revolve around family, as she frequently shares photos of her siblings, parents, nieces and nephews.

Carla Triplett Appeared on Season 7 of ‘The Biggest Loser’

Triplett appeared on The Biggest Loser season 7, which aired in 2009. She was sent home in week 1 and eliminated in week 5, but not before losing 128 pounds in the process.
She Went on the Show With Former Friend Joelle Gwynn
Triplett and Gwynn were relatively new friends when they went on The Biggest Loser, and their friendship did not last through their reality careers. Gwynn butted heads during the show with trainer Bob Harper, leading her to temporarily quit. Triplett managed to bring her back, but the two bickered throughout their time, including one week where Gwynn did not manage to lose any weight at all.
“I still consider her a friend and have reached out to her many times but I don’t know how she feels,” Triplett told People in 2009.
Gwynn said at the time that the two were merely acquaintances and would continue pursuing their weight loss goals separately.

Fit For TV: The Reality of the Biggest Loser is now on Netflix, but Triplett does not appear to have watched. She did, however, say that her sister has tuned in and she seemed to have sharp words for Gwynn.
“All of my ideas verbatim are being plagiarized by a person being interviewed on this show!” she wrote via Instagram. “But hold up…. Now ‘She was my friend!’ All for a check, RUN ME MY MONEY!! Girl Bye!”
She showed a screenshot of a text conversation with her sister, in which her sister wrote, “All this stuff she’s saying was your ideas!”
Triplett Is a Widow
Triplett married her husband Lenny in 1996 and the two were together until he died in 2021.
“Am I mad… No! Am I sad… sometimes! Do I miss you… Yes!” she wrote via Instagram on the three-year anniversary of his death. “I miss your smile, your touch, your kiss, your kindness, your generosity, your gifts, and most of ALL Your Love! I love and miss you every single day!”
