ABC’s highly anticipated 9-1-1: Nashville spinoff has the opportunity to bring over some of the most beloved characters from 9-1-1 and 9-1-1 Lone Star for a crossover — or two.

Ryan Murphy expanded his TV empire with 9-1-1, which premiered in 2018 and followed the professional and personal lives of Los Angeles first responders. After initially airing on Fox, the show was canceled in 2023 and made the move to ABC, where it is currently airing.

9-1-1 then expanded with 9-1-1: Lone Star, which followed a New York City firefighter who relocated to Texas. While 9-1-1: Lone Star came to an end in 2024, the fictional universe kept growing via the upcoming Nashville spinoff.

Set in Tennessee, the series “follows the lives of emergency responders — including firefighters, paramedics and police officers — as they face life-threatening situations,” according to the synopsis.

Angela Bassett

Athena is the character who would need a trip to Nashville more than most after her husband’s death. From there, Athena could bond with LeAnn Rimes’ Dixie — does anyone else see the vision?

Peter Krause

Hear Us out. While Krause is no longer on 9-1-1 following his character Bobby’s shocking onscreen death, there are still opportunities for the actor to reprise his role in flashback form. There could even be room for Captain Don Hart to have crossed paths with Bobby during their early fire fighting days.

Jennifer Love Hewitt

Ever since Stark hinted at a guest spot on 9-1-1: Nashville, all any of Us can think of is: Buck and Eddie Take Nashville.

A paramedic (Hen), a modern-day cowboy (Michael Provost’s Ryan), a firefighter by day and singer by night (Hailey Kilgore‘s Taylor) and former stripper (Hunter McVey‘s Blue) walk into a bar and, well, we’ll let 9-1-1: Nashville take it from here.

Britton is no longer on 9-1-1, but after her character was introduced as a dispatcher we see a potential segue into interactions between Abby and Kimberly Williams-Paisley‘s Cammie, a.k.a a fellow dispatcher.

Joshua Jackson

While not a 9-1-1 star, Jackson existed in Murphy’s TV universe after playing Dr. Max Bankman on Doctor Odyssey. The show featured a crossover with 9-1-1 before it was cancelled in July 2025, which means there’s still a chance Max (and maybe even Phillipa Soo, Sean Teale and Don Johnson‘s respective characters) could find a way to help on the medical side in Nashville.

In addition to giving Us an update on TK and Carlos, 9-1-1: Nashville could let them bond with Juani Feliz’s Roxie.

9-1-1: Nashville would be the perfect way to bring back Torres’ Tommy, and perhaps have her share the screen with Jessica Capshaw, who plays Blythe.
