Does Zoë Kravitz have a bad reputation in Taylor Swift’s home after her snake incident?

Kravitz, 36, revealed whether she’s allowed back at the pop star’s home after she and mom Lisa Bonet nearly let a pet snake loose inside the abode during an interview with E! News on Wednesday, August 20.

“Have I [been back at Swift’s house]? No,” Kravitz said before quickly clarifying, “But not because I wasn’t invited. Just because I haven’t been in L.A.”

She then joked, “No, I’m not allowed there anymore.”

Kravitz revealed the story of how she nearly let a snake loose in Swift’s home during an August 12 appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers. She explained that Swift, 35, was “kind enough” to let her and Bonet, 57, stay at her Los Angeles home after they were evacuated from their own during the California wildfires in January. However, Bonet also brought along her pet snake, Orpheus.

“I was packing up my things and I was saying to my mom, ‘I wanna be a good houseguest. I like to leave places better than I found them. I don’t want her to even know we were here,’” Kravitz said. “So, I was kind of going around and cleaning up, and I’m downstairs, and she’s upstairs, and my phone rings. It’s my mom. I’m like, ‘That’s weird because we’re in the same house.’”

She continued, “I answer the phone and she goes, ‘Hi,’ and I’m like, ‘Your voice is super high.’ And she’s like, ‘I’m in a little bit of a pickle. Can you come upstairs?’ I go upstairs and the bathroom door is closed, so I open the bathroom door, and she’s, like, crouched in the corner in this weird way.”

Kravitz said that Bonet had been washing her face and put Orpheus down for a moment. Though Bonet closed the bathroom door, the snake found a “little hole” in the corner of Swift’s bathroom next to a banquette built into the wall, with two drawers at the bottom.

Kravitz added, “My mom’s holding the snake’s tail. They’re all muscle, they’re very, very strong. I don’t know what to do. I’m like, ‘OK, maybe this hole goes into the drawers.’ So I get down on the ground, I take the drawers out. No. Start to panic. As it’s happening, the snake is getting further and further [into the hole]. I was panicking so much that my mom likes to say, ‘If I had both hands, I would have slapped you.’ I was freaking out. I’m like, ‘Mom, I can’t bring you anywhere!’”

Kravitz said Swift’s house manager eventually intervened and got a crowbar to “tear apart this banquette.” But the impromptu bathroom remodel didn’t stop there.

“We’re ripping up the tile. We’re scratching the walls,” Kravitz explained. “Completely destroyed Taylor’s bathroom and there was this moment where I was like, ‘Either we destroy her bathroom or I have to tell her that there’s a snake somewhere in her house.’”

Kravitz mustered up the courage to call Swift and tell her about the issue, but Swift’s house manager beat the Caught Stealing star to it.

“We destroyed the bathroom and I said to her house manager, ‘Obviously, I’m going to pay for everything to be fixed. Please just don’t say anything until it’s fixed,’” she added. “I remember calling her and saying, ‘Hey,’ also [in a] very high voice. ‘Hey, I wanted to talk to you about something.’ And she’s like, ‘Is it the fact that you almost lost a snake in my house and destroyed my bathroom?’”

Host Seth Meyers quipped, “I feel like that snake’s gonna get three songs on the next album.”

Kravitz joked, “Her next album is called Orpheus, obviously!”

Swift announced her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, on August 12. Kravitz, who has been friends with the “Cruel Summer” singer since at least 2016, teased in an interview with Extra on Sunday, August 17, that she had already “heard bits” of the LP ahead of its October 3 release.

“It’s fantastic, of course. No skips,” she told the outlet.
